Used to be, you had to wait for the man to bring ice, stoke the range with coal or wood, and watch TV by candlelight. Laugh. Nowadays, EVERYTHING is digital, not that many years post-industrial revolution.
We drive everywhere instead of walking, microwave everything from box this to packaged that...and how would we manage otherwise. Of course, electrical outages answer that question...unless you have a house-wired generator as many do today.
BUT WAIT.
